ODAS clusters generate their own logs, of which there are two kinds:

  1. Operational logs, which contain the system output of the service themselves and are not typically required to be used unless there is an issue in the cluster.
  2. Audit logs, which contain all access events in the ODAS cluster. These are exposed via the okera_system.audit_logs dataset and corresponding views.

Since ODAS is typically run on multiple nodes, it is necessary to provide a shared location that can be logged to, on S3 and ADLS Gen1.
