Import Tags ( Preview Feature)¶
You can easily import best-practice tags from templates provided by Okera. You can rename the tags and you can select or add a different namespace into which they should be imported. Templates can help you determine how to classify your data and reduce the time it takes you set up your classification system.
Note: You cannot import a tags with duplicate names into the same namespace. Errors will result.
You can delete tags you have imported from a tag template. See Delete a Tag.
Supplied Templates¶
The following templates are provided with Okera:
-
Personally identifiable information (PII). These tags are automatically imported with your Okera installation into the
pii
tag namespace. They include tags for addresses, credit card numbers, domain names, email addresses, gps coordinates, IP addresses, personal information, phone numbers, social security numbers, and zip codes.Note: You cannot delete tags in the
pii
tag namespace. -
Personal health information (PHI). Only one of these tags is automatically imported with your Okera installation -- the
age_col
tag. By default, these tags are added to thephi
tag namespace when they are imported. They include tags for ages, dates, dates of birth, and zip codes. -
General data protection regulation (GDPR). By default, these tags are added to the
gdpr
tag namespace when they are imported. They include tags for addresses, credit card numbers, domain names, email addresses, gps coordinates, IP addresses, personal information, phone numbers, social security numbers, zip codes, device IDs, cookie IDs, browser types, and plug-in details. -
Information security data classification levels. By default, these tags are added to the
classification
tag namespace when they are imported. They include tags for public, internal, confidential, restricted, sensitive, and highly confidential data.
Import Steps¶
To import a tag or set of tags from templates, complete these steps.
-
Select Tags on the UI side menu and then select the
button. Alternatively, you can select the
button on the Call-to-Action Home page in the Tags section.
The Create or import tags dialog appears.
-
Select Import from a template. The Select a namespace template dialog appears.
-
On the left side of the dialog, select the template you want to use. The right side of the dialog shows the tags included in the template. By default, all tags in the template are selected.
-
Optionally, in the Namespace box, change the name of the namespace into which the tags should be imported. Each tag template provided with Okera has a default namespace into which the tags are imported, but you can change that using this field.
You can select an existing namespace from the drop-down list or type in a new namespace name (and select the Create
option that appears below the namespace entry box). In the following example, a new namespace is being created called
mynamespace
. Errors appear on the dialog if you specify a name that does not meet Okera standards for namespace names. Namespace names can only contain letters, numbers, and underscores.Note: Tags that already exist in your Okera environment under the namespace specified are identified in the tag list. The phrase "This tag already exists" appears by each tag that already exists with that name and namespace classification. If you elect to import the tag anyway, any auto-tagging rules associated with the template are added to the existing tag.
-
Select the Import all tags checkbox on the right side of the dialog if you want to import all the tags in the template. If you only want to select some of the tags in the template, deselect the Import all tags checkbox and then select the individual checkboxes for the tags you want to import. In the following image, only the
date_col
anddob_col
tags in thephi
namespace have been selected.Note: If you switch tag templates after selecting some tags from a template, a warning message appears. Select
if you want to switch, but the selections you've already made will be lost.
-
Optionally, change the names of the tags you have selected. Simply click in the tag name box next to a selected tag and change its name. In the following example, the
date_col
tag has been renameddate_column
. Errors appear on the dialog if you specify a name that does not meet Okera standards for tag names. Tag names can only contain letters, numbers, and underscores.Note: Tags that already exist in your Okera environment under the namespace specified are identified in the tag list. The phrase "This tag already exists" appears by each tag that already exists with that name and namespace classification. If you elect to import the tag anyway, any auto-tagging rules associated with the template are added to the existing tag.
-
When the tags you want to import are selected and named as you wish, select
.
The tags are imported and the Tags page automatically scrolls to the namespace and tags you imported so you can see them immediately.
